Bedford County DA Suing Commissioners for not Hiring ADA

Bedford, PA (CPTN)-- The Bedford County District Attorney is suing County Commissioners, for a hiring freeze, which led to an Assistant District Attorney not being hired.

County District Attorney Ashlan Clark says that the commissioners had previously approved the hiring of the new ADA on November 3, with their official first day being scheduled for November 17.

This comes after Clark herself says that their paperwork was filled-out, approvals were given, and they had exemplary qualifications.

Clark also says that the newly-hired candidate had already left her previous job, and had no health insurance, and would be hired without pay, due to the state budget stalemate.

Now, Clark says that she could've been hired, with the pay being covered through the DA's Office budget, and she'd be suing commissioners for the new hires backpay.
